Subject Categories

Fine Art (FA): Primarily traditional outdoor scenes such as landscapes, waterfalls, street scenes, panoramas, etc.

Still Life (SL): Portraits, domestic pets, posed groups of people, studio setups, close ups, and macro photography where the photographer has control over the subject and has the ability to control lighting through the use of flash, lamps, reflectors, shades or positioning.

Action (Act): Photos involving movement (or the possibility of movement) on the part of the subject and where the photo- grapher has limited or no control over both the subject and the lighting, except for the possible use of flash. This includes sports, wildlife and photojournalism.

Competition Certification

I have read all of The Rotary Club of Redding Charitable Foundation dba Sundial Film Festival “Official Rules and Guidelines,” I agree to, and have complied with, these “Official Rules and Guidelines.” I warrant that I have sufficient right, title, and interest in the photographs to convey to the festival herein and that I have not previously conveyed any rights or entered into any licenses that conflict with the rights conveyed herein. I further warrant that to the best of my knowledge, information and belief, my photographs do not infringe on any copyrights or other proprietary rights of third parties, the photographs are not the subject of any notice of any infringement(s) and the photographs are not the subject of any license or arrangement between me and any third party that would have an effect on my rights to exercise rights of copyright in and to the photos as set forth in this submission. I understand that failure to adhere to the Sundial Film Festival rules will result in disqualification and forfeiture of the entry fee. I further agree to indemnify, defend, release, and hold harmless The Rotary Club of Redding Charitable Foundation dba Sundial Film Festival and its agents, legal representatives, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, affiliates, successors, or assigns against all claims, demands, losses, damages, judgments, liabilities, and expenses (including attorney’s fees and costs) arising out of the use of my photography entry, and/or in connection with any breach of the terms and conditions of this entry form and certification, the Official Rules and Guidelines of the Sundial Film Festival, the above stated warranties, and any and all claims of any third parties, whether or not groundless, based on any photos submitted to the Sundial Film Festival.
